Lester Calhoun Henderson, 90, of Ferguson Rd, Franklin, NC d Tues Apr 30,1996
at his residence. He was a native of Macon Co, a s of the late Charles W and
Annie Keener Henderson.
He had served as President of Macon Savings Bank for 19 years, was a member of
the Bd of dir since 1927 and had served on the Appraisal Comm.
He owned and operated S & L Five and Ten cent store for 60 years. He was a
former member and secretary of the Franklin Rotary.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Adeline Teague Henderson; two dau,
JoAnn Henderson and Linda Morrow, both of Franklin; three sons, Max T Henderson
of Inman, SC, Charles L Hendedrrson of Franklin, NC and Conway W Henderson of
Spartanburg, SC, one sister, Lois McNabb of Murphy, NC, two grandchildren and
29 greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Fri May 3, at 11 AM at First United Meth Ch of
which he was a member, with Rev Thos Griffis, Rev Harold Strader and Rev Steve
Reeves officiating.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cem.
