1213. Marion Tilson HENDERSON

Marion Tilson Henderson served as an army private with the 2nd Reg.
North Carolina Vol. in the war with Spain. He served from June 15,
1898 to November 7, 1898. He was discharged in Ashville, North
Carolina.
He was working for the National Refinery, which was probably a oil
refinery, in Coffeyville, KS. After his death Mattie moved the family
back to Arkansas where another child was born, Lillian, on June 13,
1918.
On August 1, 1918 Mattie Henderson, his wife, applied for a pension
for herself and four (4) living childern. She stated that her annual
income was less than $250.00 per year. The claim was received by the
U. S. Pension office on August 5, 1918. This claim was applied for in
Boone County, Arkansas
He was called to go to World War I but died before entering the army.
Mattie drew a pension of $143.30 every three months for 5 children to
the age of 16.
